Recruiting Policies & Procedures
Scharf Pera & Co., PLLC seeks to employ intelligent individuals with high levels of integrity and motivation. We are an equal opportunity employer that prohibits discrimination in hiring based on race, sex, religion, age, color, national origin and disability. Generally, we hire individuals with undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in accounting with the ability and ambition to pass the Uniform CPA Examination. Additionally, we will hire paraprofessionals who may not possess a college degree, but have the accounting experience and personal qualifications necessary to perform the tasks of a staff accountant or bookkeeper.

Generally, prospective employees are given a personal interview and an office tour. In evaluating a prospective employee, members generally review an individual’s grade point average, college course concentration in accounting and related courses, computer skills, communication skills, personal achievements, work experience and personal interests. Prospective employees are expected to provide the firm with a resume and a list of personal and professional references.
